LESSONS

​During a typical one-hour private lesson, students learn to read music and play the piano, combining the appropriate technique with expression and artistry. While Victoria teaches using a classical approach, students are encouraged to learn and perform a variety of music styles of different genres and time periods.

Absolutely all ages and abilities are welcome.

ABRSM Exam Preparation

(60 minute sessions)
The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is an examinations board and registered charity based in London that provides music examinations at centers around the world. ABRSM provides graded music exams, assessments, and diplomas. The exam requires an ABRSM registration fee, books purchase, and attending the exam at the designated location in Boston with the ABRSM examiner. Examination preparation with Victoria Lambrozo includes:
  • Learning three piano pieces from the ABRSM approved list and sight reading at the corresponding level
  • Learning required scales and arpeggios
  • Refining aural skills: analyzing elements of music, singing on pitch, recognizing rhythm patterns
Prerequisite: at least one year of piano lessons, along with a consistent lesson and practice schedule.

Sight Reading

(30 minute sessions)
These lessons focus on sight reading skills, allowing for faster, better learning of musical compositions.
Basic Musicianship
(30 minute sessions)
This group lesson focuses on learning music elements — pitch, rhythm, dynamics, articulation, and phrasing. Basic music theory including music alphabet, note writing/reading/playing/ singing, note values, intervals and scale building, and more are also explored. All materials are provided.
Small Ensemble
(30 minute sessions)
These lessons focus on learning to play in unison with other musicians. The availability of two grand pianos and a keyboard in the studio allows for a wide variety of piano ensembles, from duets for 4 hands to piano concertos.
